Eduardo is the founder of movimentar GmbH and works as a project-management and data-science consultant, trainer and facilitator in designing, managing and evaluating projects and programmes across the globe. He holds a BA in International Relations, an MA in Development Policy, and a PhD in Economics. His expertise lies in the participatory design of proposals for various donors, the design of monitoring and evaluation systems and tools using computing for data analysis (e.g., reproducible sampling procedures, computer-coded data analysis), the training of staff in the use and development of mobile and web applications, database management, review and evaluation.
Eduardo offers coaching, training and facilitation services face-to-face and remotely for planning, project and financial management, monitoring, and reporting to projects and programmes in fields such as governance, public-sector support, poverty alleviation, gender, WASH, environment, health, education, private-sector support, trade, market access, microfinance, youth empowerment, agriculture, nutrition, disaster-risk reduction, and food security. He has worked as a consultant in countries such as Afghanistan, Angola, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ethiopia, Germany, India, Mexico, Netherlands, Niger, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tajikistan, Ukraine, and Zambia, among others. Eduardo is member of the German Evaluation Society and the Brazilian Network of Monitoring and Evaluation.

Annalena Oeffner Ferreira works as report writer, translator, and editor/proofreader for movimentar and manages the company’s finances and accountancy. She holds a BA in Journalism and an MA in Development Policy and has worked as lecturer and research assistant in media and communication studies at the University of Bremen. Annalena has lived in Brazil, England, Germany, New Zealand, Sweden, Uruguay, and the UK and has worked as a freelance writer, translator, and editor/proofreader for numerous institutions, NGOs, and news media. She translates from English, German, Portuguese, and Swedish into English and German.

Usman received his BS in Physics (Telecommunications) in Karachi, Pakistan. After three years of working as physics teacher in Karachi, he pursued an MSc in Environmental Physics at the University of Bremen. His expertise lies in environmental research in the context of climate change with data management, analysis, and visualization using MySQL, R, Python, and MATLAB. He is proficient in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using ArcGIS and QGIS for remote sensing particularly in satellite image processing for earth surface classifications and change detection.

Jailson Fulgencio de Moura was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and received his BSc in biological sciences, an MA and a PhD in Public Health and Environment at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ), one of the highest regarded public health institutions in Latin America. His research focused on the links between oceanic environmental problems and risks to human health, including biodiversity loss, environmental pollution, and climate change. He was granted a postdoctoral fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation to continue his research work at the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT) in the department of Integrated Modelling in Bremen, Germany. Along his career, he gained expertise in, and published about, public health, epidemiology, and environment-related themes. He has expertise in advanced statistical analyses, spatial analysis, and graphical design using programming languages such as R, Python, Markdown and computer software such as Affinity designer.

Saúl received his BSc in biology in 2017 from the University of El Salvador, where he participated in various research activities, including research project planning, data analysis, and research paper publication. He was awarded a scholarship from the Mexican government (CONACYT) to study a double-degree master in Environment and Natural Resources Management (ENREM Programme). In 2020, he was awarded the titles of MSc in Environmental Sciences (Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, Mexico) and MSc in Natural Resources Management and Development (Technische Hochschule Köln). Saúl has previously worked with the ecology of vector-borne diseases, specifically chagas disease and its insect hosts. He is familiar with univariate and multivariate statistical methods, GIS software (QGIS and ArcGIS), the R programming language, and species distribution modelling. At movimentar, Saúl has been involved in multiple evaluation and research assignments including in sector of water in humanitarian projects, as well as protection and sustainable rural development in multiple countries.

Carolina has a Bachelor in International Relations from the University of Paraíba in Brazil and a specialisation in Project Management for International Cooperation from the GNE in Witzenhausen. She has advanced skills in graphic design and has been involved in the development of research briefs and reports for organisations such as UNICEF and UNDP. Carolina has experiences with bot and app development. She has worked with a range of non-governmental organisations in Brazil, such as AIESEC, AFS, and SOS Children’s Villages. She has also worked as a volunteer abroad for AIESEC in Paraguay and Peru. Her main interests are project management, humanitarian aid, and human resources.

Denise is a Brazilian consultant, who has supported movimentar in multiple projects and programmes. She holds a BA in International Relations with a postgraduate degree in Evaluation of Results and Impacts of Organizations and Public Programmes, and an MA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Denise also participated in the development programme for entrepreneurs, executives and shareholders at Babson College, US. She worked with the National Mayors Front, the ASBACE Foundation for Teaching and Research as well as companies such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers, i9Ação Consultoria e Assessoria, Polaris Investimentos, Assessoria e Participações.
Denise has extensive experience in social development projects with the Brazilian Cooperation Agency, United Nations – Equatorial Guinea, and the United Nations Development Programme in Brazil.

Sucharit Basu Neogi studied B.Sc. in Zoology and M.Sc. in Genetics and Molecular Biology in Dhaka University in his home country Bangladesh, and holds a M.Sc. in Aquatic Ecology from Universität Bremen, Germany. He obtained his PhD in Molecular Microbial Ecology and Pathogenetics from Osaka Prefecture University, Japan. For more than 15 years he served as a devoted researcher at the International Centre for Diarrheal Diseases Research, Bangladesh. Dr. Neogi has conducted a variety of research investigations on the environmental dynamics of infectious pathogens influencing the health of humans, animals, and aquatic organisms in collaboration with many international research institutes.
Dr. Neogi has multidisciplinary research experiences concerning human and animal health, awareness and knowledge building on WASH, environmental health, disaster-risk reduction, food safety, sustainable natural resource management and ecosystem services- based adaptation. His research mission aims to promote sustainable healthy environment through holistic understanding of the ecology and epidemiology of infectious diseases, associated driving factors, risks and barriers, and stimulating participatory interventions to protect humans, animals, and ecosystem processes. He is highly skilled in ecological, microbiological and molecular assays, including bacterial culture, water chemistry, bio-physicochemical, biogeochemical and biodiversity analysis, pathogenicity and drug resistance, genomic characterization, and bioinformatics. He has been innovative in rapid and molecular detection of infectious pathogens, ecological and epidemiological surveillance, and also holistic understanding the impacts of anthropogenic pollution and hydro-climatic disasters on waterborne and zoonotic diseases influencing human and animal health.

Yamina is a German/Algerian consultant based in London, UK. She holds a BA in International Business and Intercultural Studies with a regional focus on the MENA region and is currently completing her MA in International Development Studies with a focus on gender studies. She has lived, worked, and studied in Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Spain, the UK, and Germany, enhancing her language skills and intercultural competencies along the way.
Yamina has gained experience in the areas of project and event management, communications, and digital facilitation. She has worked with a range of public and non-governmental development cooperation agencies, for instance a local Algerian NGO focusing on youth empowerment, an international NGO in the field of girls’ rights and for the German development cooperation in a programme directed at collective leadership and interdisciplinary dialogue for sustainable change and innovation.
